Rebecca Ataire Empty
PostSubject: Rebecca Ataire   Rebecca Ataire EmptyFri Jan 18, 2013 1:05 am

(Sorry for such a long wait, finals week is next week, and I've been busy studying)
Name:Rebecca Ataire (Ah-TARE-EE)
Age:15
Gender:Female
Patronus:Tiger
Boggart:The judge whose courtroom her parents' divorce happened in
Wand Type:Ebony, Unicorn hair, 11 Inches

History:
Rebecca was born to a Half-blood father and a Muggle mother. Her mother was well aware of the magic world her husband belonged to, and that she was never to experience it herself. However, they are dedicated to each other and to making their relationship work. When Rebecca came around, her parents agreed to raise her as a Muggle. However, they were quite careful to develop within her an open mind towards the unexplainable, such as religion, miracles, the supernatural, and of course, magic. With this open-mindess came a strong set of morals shared by both of her parents, applicable in all circumstances. She was also exposed to different kinds of people, as many as possible as long as they were deemed safe by her parents. As she neared her eleventh birthday, her father grew increasingly anxious. He had mixed feelings about Hogwarts for his little girl. He had only on rare occasions step into his magical world, and was quite happy with his Muggle family. However, he longed to have a child to pass on the wisdom and anecdotes collected from 7 years of magical schooling.

When the fateful letter arrived, Rebecca's mother suddenly refused to let her go. She had, unbeknownst to her husband, been carrying a hope that her family would drift away from the mysterious world her husband came from. When it appeared that Rebecca did, in fact, have her father's blood coursing through her veins, that dream shattered into a million pieces. In a desperate attempt to restore continuity, she threatened divorce if Rebecca were too attend. Frightened, anxious, and nervous, Rebecca watched from behind the door as her parents had their first, full-on, shouting match of a fight. In the end, Rebecca left for Hogwarts, her mother left for Canada, and her father left for India. None on them wanted to return to the house that had been home for so long. Rebecca spends time with both of her parents, but in all honesty believes Hogwarts to be her real home. She loves her parents with all her heart, but the effects of the split have altered their personalities, and at times they seem like completely different people than the ones that Rebecca had known for the first 11 years of her life.

Appearance:
Rebecca is a fair-skinned girl who stands about 5'8''. Her body is lithe and well taken care of, perfect for her favorite hobby: running. Many people have assumed that very light hair is dyed, but it is actually her natural hair color. She has short blond hair that falls to her shoulders and sweeps across her forehead, at times obscuring her pale gray-blue eyes. No matter what she says or does, Rebecca has never been able to hide her true feelings from her eyes, although very few people are able to read her pale orbs.
She usually dresses quite casually, with jeans, a T-shirt, and a light jacket. She has never been seen outside of her house without a pair of running shoes. She doesn't dress to impress, as the saying goes, but every now and then after a successful shopping trip, she can spend a few hours coming up with different outfits. Even though she claims that she hates dressing up, she does own a few skirts and dresses for formal occasions. Going along with her simple dress code, Rebecca spends little to no time on make-up, partly due to her sensitive skin and partly due to her belief of natural beauty. Despite this, when she really does make an effort, she turns heads wherever she goes.

Personality:
Rebecca is a quieter girl who notices the little things. She loves to write, and has filled many notebooks and journals worth of rainy day afternoons. She brings her very first one with her, as well as the one she is currently filling up. Many of the works are dreams, fantasies of the moment, or sometimes just a record of her day. When she writes, she always finds words that express exactly what she feels. Even so, she has a hard time speaking to others in a way that conveys everything she wants to say.
She is definitely a listener, but if you get her started on things she's passionate about, she's never backing down. Her friends often describe her as intelligent, sweet, caring, and super-nice. However, her best friends know the side that she just doesn't show; she has little reason too. Those who have seen it say that she reminds them of a tiger: Powerful, intimidating, possessing a kind of terrifying beauty.

RP Sample:
Rebecca numbly returned the hug her mother gave her then trailed behind her father onto the train platforms. Clinging on tightly to her father's hand, she squeezed her eyes shut and followed him through the barrier. The whistle of traditional, story-book trains greeted them. Opening her blue-gray eyes, she gasped at the startling change in surroundings. Her eyes were drawn to the long, red, steam-powered train waiting patiently at the station. She looked up at her father with a look of bewilderment and awe. He smiled down at her and directed her towards the back of the train. He triple-checked her baggage, made sure her owl's cage was securely fastened, that she had her letter, and finally drew her into her arms. She felt tears spring to her eyes as he held her tightly.
Neither of them spoke, for they both felt strongly that the tension of recent events was too hard to talk about. "I love you. I will always be here for you. And I know how much your mother loves you as well, I know she'll come through." He whispered, his voice breaking at the mention of his wife. Rebecca nodded and tore herself away before her tears spilled onto her cheeks. She managed, through sheer willpower, to smile shakily at the train attendants who helped her stow her luggage away, find an empty coach and keep an anxious yet excited look on her face until she heard the clickity-clack of the train wheels. She locked the door, found a dark corner, and let her tears fall unabashed. She sobbed silently as the train sped across the country-side, carrying her to a whole new world.
