Not So Plesant Searching.

Draco stopped about 10 feet from the treeline. Even in the day the forest was coated in a thick fog that made it almost impossible to see. The thick fog rolled over Draco's feet as he took a step forward, a lump quickly forming in his throat as he drew his wand. He was terrified, he had heard so many stories and rumors about the place, some even made it sound as torterous as Azkiban itself. Something caught Draco's attention, a movement in the fog caused it to swirl up. He jumped at least a foot backwards, pointing his wand at the treeline. Something screached and Draco gulped, praying to merlin it wasn't one of those spiders Weasley had spoken of. He took a step towards the noise only to see what he feared. There was a rather large hairy spider, feasting on what appeared to ne the remains of a deer, they were almost the same size! Draco's mouth went dry as he froze in place, wand shakily raised towards the beast as he watched it feast, again praying to merlin. This time, he prayed it wouldnt spot him, he had no doubt that if he used the killing curse on it, more would hear the impact and rush to see what had hapened. The Slytherin began to back away slowly, keeping his eyes on the 8 legged beast. He had to admit, this is one thing he and Weasley had in common, an irrational fear of spiders, moreso when theyre this size.

Blair couldn't wait to get back outside. As soon as she had thrown the broom and robes into the Room of Requirement, she dashed down the hallways of Hogwarts, her heart racing and her body tingling. She could feel her inner feline itching to come out and play, and as soon as she opened the doors and dashed out onto the grounds, she fell to all fours and began to run towards the forest. She heard a sound and stopped dead right before hitting the trees, turning her ears so she might hear it better. She spotted Draco, wand raised and a terrified expression on his pale face. She ran over to him and nudged his arm with her muzzle in greeting before sitting and curiously tilting her head at him as if to ask him what was giving him such a fright.

Draco nearly jumped out of his skin as he felt the brush of another being against him. His eyes darted down as his breathing hitched. Calming down a bit when he spotted the familiar feline standing beside him. He pointed towards the treeline shakily with his hand, head quickly snapping back towards the large spider that had just now spotted them. Draco whimpered as it crawled closer, its beady red eyes shimmering as they hit the light. He took a step back, nearly tripping over himself as it approached them, its blackened jaws dripping with what he assumed to be a nasty mixture of blood and venom. Draco shuddered as his eyes met the beasts, wand at the ready he screached out a Stupify, missing the spider by a long shot due to his unsteady aim. He couldnt understand why Voldemort had little to no effect on him but this bloody spider made his skin crawl and his body quake. He felt queasy and started dry heaving. Luckily he hadnt eaten or else hed be puking up something. The spider reaked of sulfiric acid or something, it was disgusting. Its legs were long and had barb-like hairs sticking about everywhere. It made draco want to hurl, or run away. His father wouldnt be proud of his state, it was times like these that he was glad Lucius was locked in Azkiban. Draco pulled himself back to reality, he couldnt show fear, no weakness. What would Potter say if word got around that Draco had a weakness! He would not have it. He glared at the thing, trying to look intimidating as he could. Maybe it would run away, if not Draco was screwed because he couldnt seem to make his voice work.

Blair raised her hackles, growled low in her throat, and put her ears back, her body automatically going into a crouch. She didn't know what exactly this creature was, but she didn't like the look of it. As it advanced, she backed up, transforming back into a human. She grabbed her wand and pointed it at the creature. "Avada Kedavra," she said without hesitation, a flash of green light erupting from her wand and hitting the giant thing. It fell to the ground, dead, and Blair turned to Draco. "What happened? Are you okay?" She hoped he hadn't been bitten or anything, but was unsure of why he hadn't just killed it himself.

Draco jumped again as the green flash errupted from the girls wand, staring as the spider dropped to the ground. "Bloody spiders. I heard rumors that the forest is crawling with em but I didn't expect to see one. Intolerable hairy, gross... Unsanitary.." just thinking about them made Draco's skin crawl and he shivered. "You still want to explore in there? Ive no problem with it. We'll just have to be really careful." He looked over at the girl slowly before approaching the dead spider, pulling out a flask to collect a good amount of venom. Maybe he could use it for potions.

"Of course I want to go exploring. Who do you think I am?" Blair looked towards the forest as she put her wand away, her green eyes shining with mischief. "Are you going on two legs or four?" She asked Draco, whipping her head to face him, causing her red hair to fan out behind her. She grinned at him, excited to start their adventure.

Draco gulped, shaking his head a bit as he tried to contain his composure."I suppose I'll be going on all fours, the werewolves and centaurs are less likely to attack animals, or so I've read.." He croaked out before dropping to all fours, transforming into a lion rather quickly.

"Just be ready for anything, I suppose," Blair said, falling to all fours and letting her body fall into the natural rhythm of her transformation. Once she had become her feline counterpart, she stretched so she got used to her body and sat down to properly look at Draco and see if he would be joining her. She cocked her head to the side and wrapped her tail around her legs, patiently waiting to see what he would do.

Draco's ears sunk back as he crept into he forest. He was terrified. The forest was a dangerous place, even moreso at night. Theyd have to make this exploration quick. Being in the forest a niht would be like committing suicide. They wouldnt last an hour. He snorted and started trotting, his heavy paws snapping twigs and roots beneath him as he glanced backwards, waiting for her to catch up.

Blair caught up easily, her heart racing and her excitement mounting. She wasn't scared of the forest but looking forward to getting to know it better. She flicked her tail at Draco suddenly, warning him to stop - she heard rustling in the bushes. She crouched automatically, her feline instincts taking over. She began to quietly get closer to the noise, unsure of what kind of creature would be waiting for them.

Draco stopped immediatley as he felines tail flicked towards him. He dug his claws into he earth, praying to merlin it wasnt another spider. His ears flickered forwards as the female went to investigate the noise. Draco followed several paces after her, curious as to what exactly she had heard.

Blair approached the noise, making none herself, and stuck her nose in the air, taking a whiff of the smells around her. It was a centaur, but there was only one here... Blair cocked her head to the side in confusion. Usually, centaurs were in herds, not alone. She wished that she had a way to communicate with it in her animal form - she knew that they weren't too fond of humans.

Draco padded beside her, inhaling the scent as well. Had his nose betrayed him, no the scent was clear. The air held the centaurs stench. He didn't dare step further. Centaurs were aggressive deadly creatures. He wanted to avoid them at all costs.

Blair huffed at Draco as if in impatience, but there was something else... the smell wasn't quite right on this one. That's why it had taken her so long to identify. It was injured! She decided to throw caution to the wind and poked her head through the bushes, immediately withdrawing back towards Draco. The centaur was naught but a bloody mess, and Blair was unsure if she should go check and see if it was still alive or leave it for dead. That meant there was something much bigger and more dangerous than she thought in the forest, and that unsettled her.

Draco whimpered softly and nudged at her before poking his head through the brush. What he saw startled him. There was barely anything left of the centaur. His eyes widened as he stepped through he shrubs and towards the creature. He sniffed at its wounds, the sick putrid stench of a particular type of flesh eating venom hi his nostrils like a ton of bricks. His eyes rolled back slightly as he stumbled backwards, his nose felt like it was on fire. He shook he sensation away and glanced around at their surroundings. Burnt trees...charred ground, drag marks. There had to be a dragon nearby.

Blair's heart skipped a beat as she sensed Draco's terror. She wasn't sure what she should do next but her mind was whirling. She felt safer as a cat and decided to stay that way, nudging Draco and nodding her head the other way. She wanted to talk to him as a human, but this wasn't the place to do it.

Draco nodded and bolted towards the tree-line. No doubt the dragon wasn't far away and he certainly didn't want to be there when it returned to claim the remainder of its meal. He huffed and snorted as he started to slow down, a good distance away from the forest. He flopped over onto his side, transforming back into a human as he waited for her to catch up.

Blair wasn't able to stop in time and the result was her cat form barreling into Draco, knocking them both over. She immediately transformed into a human, a bit bid-winded at their closeness. "Sorry," she said, propping herself up on her elbows. "What do you make of that centaur, though? There has to be something pretty big to do that to such a creature..." Blair shuddered slightly as she thought of the possibilities.

Draco shuddered as images played through his head. "It was a dragon.. The ground was singed as well as a few of the trees, I saw a few drag marks also, most likely from he tail" draco was mortified by the idea hat here was a dragon of unknown breed lurking around in the forbidden forest.

"A dragon? That sounds exciting! I wonder what kind it is, and how it got here?" Blair smiled at Draco, her eyes alight with curiosity. She almost wanted to go back in and find out, but something told her that might not be the best idea. "How do we deal with this? We can't have a dragon just roaming around the Hogwarts grounds..." Blair bit her lip, now a little anxious. This was quite a big deal, and she knew that she couldn't take on a dragon by herself. Not that she would even want to.
